Brian Lane, 6Connex


As vice president of health care and life sciences for 6Connex, Brian Lane plays a crucial role in the expansion and development of the health care and life sciences vertical practice within 6Connex. Brian brings over 15 years experience in health care and has held strategic management positions for several Fortune 500 companies as well as Big Four consulting practices.

Preceding his role with 6Connex, Brian served as vice president of corporate development for Simpson Health care, where he was responsible for strategic planning and development as well as partnerships and alliances. In addition, Brian was vice president of market development with AHA Solutions, a subsidiary of the American Hospital Association committed to achieving the highest levels of operational efficiencies for health care providers to deliver the best possible care to their patients and communities. Prior to this role, he served as the vice president of technology and led the direction and account management of AHA-Solutions technology business unit as well as provided the AHA strategic advisory services for the association’s information technology department.

Brian received an MS degree from Rush University’s Health System Management Program and a Bachelor of Science from University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is a Fellow in the American College of Health care Executives (FACHE), a Fellow in Health care Information Management Systems Society (FHIMSS) and is a Certified Professional in Health care Information Management Systems (CPHIMS). He is currently certified as a Security and Compliance Specialist (CSCS) and holds a graduate certificate in Health care Ethics from Rush University as well as an executive certificate in e-business from Loyola.

In addition, he is an active member of the following associations: ACHE – American College of Health Care Executives, ASAE – American Society of Association Executives, HCCA – Health Care Compliance Association, HFMA – Health Care Financial Management Association, HIMSS – Health Care Information Management Systems Society, and is a co-founder of CHITA – Chinese Health Care Information Technology Association.

Brian serves as a faculty member at Rush University. Brian actively serves on the Advisory Boards for Academy, Patient Engagement Advisors, PatientMD and the advisory board for Cisco and HIMSS with the Connected Community Association, and co-founded the Health care Executive Advisory Committee for AT&T.

Session Title: Virtual Events and Conferencing


This session will discuss the technologies behind virtual events, conferencing, and the creation of digital archives of meetings for multiple formats; including web and mobile — and how they may be applied to physical and virtual meetings.
