Speaker Bio: Karl Ludwig has been a pioneer in the development of badge printing and scanning technology and applications since 1989. With a background in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Computer Science, Mr. Ludwig applied his unique blend of skills and experience into the development of cost-effective and best-in-class solutions for the Meetings Industry. Starting with the development of portable plastic card embossing and badge printing databases in 1992, Mr. Ludwig introduced a revolutionary portable bar-code based badge printing system that used readily available laser printers instead of specialized and expensive thermal barcode printers, as well as the ability to print and encode plastic cards with magnetic stripes. Mr. Ludwig’s company, Hightech Knowledge incorporated, was one of the first to develop and apply radio frequency identification (RFID) technology in conference badges for attendee tracking and exhibitor lead retrieval.
