Ray Harris is the President and CEO of the Webcast Group, Incorporated. He is a leading technologist in the fields of video compression and video networking as well as a marketing person who understands the mechanics of sales channels and the importance of branding. Mr. Harris has been involved in digital compression technology since 1992 when he was the President of Optibase, Inc. While at Optibase, he was responsible for developing the World’s first MPEG1 encoder, the first MPEG digital ad insertion decoder for CATV and one of the first MPEG 2 DVD encoders.
Prior to Optibase, Mr. Harris was under exclusive contract with NTT Electronics where, he consulted on technology ranging from MPEG2 over ATM, MPEG2 multi casting, MPEG4 and home DVD recording systems.
